Our story

Michael & Raichelle

A husband and wife, four kids, a little over twenty acres in the hills above Chelan, and a company we’re building together.

Where we come from

MiRa is our two names put together: Michael and Raichelle. We graduated high school together in 2001. Shortly after 9/11, Michael joined the military to help our country.

We were married on June 21, 2003, and shortly after, Michael left the military under honorable conditions. We’ve been building a life side by side ever since.

In 2005 we bought our first house, in Port Orchard, Washington, and Raichelle graduated nursing school and started her nursing career. Today she’s a semi-retired Registered Nurse. Michael is a 100% disabled Veteran. Together we’re raising four children.

In 2006 Michael started InnoScale. It took seven years of building before it paid him his first paycheck in 2013. That’s the kind of patience most of what we do has required.

In 2017 we moved from Port Orchard, Washington, to Las Vegas, where we built a very nice house with an in-ground pool. Life was great there.

We’ve been through a lot. It taught us what matters: family, honest work, and showing up for the people around us.

Life on the hill

Then came 2021. Right after COVID, food was getting hard to get, and with a family to think about, we made a big decision. We moved to Chelan, Washington. We wanted a homestead, a more vested interest in our food and our lives, and to slow down a little. We’ll be honest: some days we wish we hadn’t moved. But we’re here, and we’re building.

We own a little over twenty acres in the hills above Chelan, where we live the homesteading lifestyle, with our own chickens wandering the yard.

Nothing up here came easy. Prices went crazy, and even a small home of about 1,400 square feet cost a great deal. We had to drill 605 feet down to reach water. While we built, all six of us lived cramped together in an RV.

In 2023 we finished our custom log-home ADU, and it’s where we live today. We’re more comfortable now, and there’s still work to do: a driveway, finishing the lofts, and the bonus space above the garage. Slowly but surely.
