Account & data deletion
How to delete your Keep the Sauce account and data, from the app, on the web or by email.
The short version
- You can delete your account in the app, at keepthesauce.com, or by emailing us.
- Deletion is immediate and permanent in our live systems. Backups roll off within 14 days.
- Shared household recipes stay with your family. Households you own pass to another member.
- Deleting your account doesn’t cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription. Cancel that in your store settings.
This summary is for convenience only. The full text below is what governs.
This page applies to Keep the Sauce, developed by MiRa Ventures, Inc., a Washington State S-Corporation, on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and to accounts on keepthesauce.com.
Option 1: Delete in the app
- Open Keep the Sauce and go to your account and household screen (where you signed in).
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account….
- Tap Delete account permanently to confirm.
Option 2: Delete on the web
Sign in at keepthesauce.com/account/delete and confirm the deletion.
Option 3: Ask us
If you can’t sign in, use our contact form (topic “Account & data deletion”) or email michael@innoscale.net with the subject “Account deletion request” from the email address on your account. We will verify that the account is yours and complete the deletion within 30 days, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
- Your account profile (email address, display name) and all your sign-in identities (Apple, Google, email).
- Your sessions and sign-in tokens.
- Your personal ratings, statuses and private notes on recipes, and your meal feedback.
- Any household you own that has no other members, together with its recipes, photos, notes, meal plans, collections and lists.
What stays, and why
- Shared households. If you own a household that has other members, ownership passes to another member so your family doesn’t lose their recipe box. Recipes and notes you added to a shared household stay with that household, but your name is no longer attached.
- Purchase records. Transaction records from Apple or Google are kept for tax, accounting and fraud-prevention purposes (generally up to 7 years) and are no longer linked to your account.
- Backups. Database backups are kept for up to 14 days and then overwritten.
- Security logs. Server logs that may contain your IP address are kept only as long as reasonably needed for security and troubleshooting.
Deleting only some data
You can delete individual recipes, photos, notes, lists and share links in the app at any time without deleting your account, or ask us at michael@innoscale.net.
Subscriptions
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in your device settings: on iPhone or iPad go to Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions; on Android, open Google Play, then Profile, Payments & subscriptions, Subscriptions.
